Kathleen Inman
Owner/Winemaker
In 1999 Inman Family Wines’ owner and winemaker, Kathleen Inman, along with her husband Simon, acquired an old 10.5 acre farmstead in the Russian River Valley which she developed into the Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris vineyard now know as Olivet Grange Vineyard.
Born in Napa Valley, Kathleen McGowan Inman’s career in the wine industry started in 1982 at a small winery in St Helena, at the time known as Napa Creek Winery where she helped in the cellar during the week and provided tours and tastings on the weekends during that summer. However, her first spell in the wine industry was short-lived due to a chance meeting of an English tourist on her first day in the tasting room. The following year she moved to England and married Simon Inman shortly after she graduated with a degree in Art History from the University of California, Santa Barbara. From 1984 until her return to California in 1998, Kathleen worked in England for Price Waterhouse, Coopers & Lybrand, GKR Group and earned her MBA from the University of Bradford Management Center. She developed her specialties in strategic planning and financial structuring.
Upon returning to California to pursue her passion for Pinot Noir, Kathleen studied viticulture and enology through the UC Davis extension program as well as though hands-on experience and mentoring from her many friends in the industry.
Kathleen and her husband Simon have two daughters, Ashley (18) and Meredith (13) and reside in Healdsburg, CA.
